Well, it appears I'm not as off-gid as I thought I'd (have to) be... I've found a sweet spot of connectivity while walking the dog along the dirt road. On top of a hill, I stop and download for 5min or so while he wanders a bit further.
Oh, and sometimes I can send & receive from the far end window. It's kept the DTs at bay. :)
